Using Hardscaping to Increase Your Home’s Value

Uncategorized

Investing in the outdoor areas of your home by hardscaping can increase your
home’s value. What is hardscaping? Simply put, hardscaping uses non-living,
inanimate elements such as natural stone, concrete products (including pavers),
bricks, and even metal to expand your living area outdoors.

The client’s home that is showcased in today’s article has a lakefront lot, but the
slope was so steep, it was dangerous if not impossible to safely navigate down to
their dock. Additionally, they wanted to improve the aesthetics and functionality
of the main level patio area.

We used a combination of flagstone, boulders, and river rock to create a natural
staircase from the house to the firepit area. Not only is the result beautiful, but it
is also a safe way to reach this outdoor living space. The firepit area is flanked by
both seating and wall boulders. We used flagstone and a contrasting color of pea
gravel to fill in between, and we were very please with the results.
